High-voltage reversible rectifiers for electrolysis of rare-earth non-ferrous metals and electroplating facings with controlled stabilized direct current

Reversible rectifier ideal for electrolysis of rare earth metals and electroplatings with regulated stabilized direct current has been developed and is readily available. The rectifier may be also used when operating under active load where high accuracy of direct current stabilization is required.

Regulation and stabilization of direct current of both directions is effected by dint of power thyristors that carry current of 4000 A. The thyristors are mounted on secondary winding of converter transformer.

1. Indenious thyristors control system mounted on one printed-circuit board with use of microelectronics. To increase control system reliability, the printed-circuit board is implemented with single-sided printed wiring. The above board is connected by connectors assembly with external electric wiring;

2. Settings range of current being stabilized from 10 to 100% of rated value as output voltage changes from 15 to 100%;

3. Output current stabilization accuracy is ± 2 %;

4. Possibility of rectifier control from external control desk is available;

5. High power value - efficiency and Cos ф;

6. Operation reliability and security is assured by mains automatic switch, screen windings of transformer equipment and built-in system of protection against short circuit currents and current load;

7. Duration of guarantee and service life is up to 10 years;

8. Maintenance accessibility. All rectifier elements are accessible to maintenance on one face side.

Output current reverse is effected by the second thyristor bridge mounted in the rectifier. Duration of current flowing of straight and opposite polarity is set and effected automatically from external time setting device or manually. The rectifier may assure in turn operation prolonged mode of output current of both directions. The rectifier control is - local or remote. To decrease mass - overall dimensions value, the rectifier is cooled with water cooling of thyristors and secondary windings of converter transformer and its version is without protection enclosure. In doing so, it should be placed in a separate premises. There is no need in auxiliary adjustment on the rectifier operation site. It is suffice to connect supply mains, water supply system and load.

Water flow rate - 2 m3/h.

Supple mains - 3 phase, 380 V, 50 Hz.

Overall dimensions (width x depth x height) - 1600 x 1200 x 2000 mm.
